Course Description This course is for those planning a career or already working as engineering officers in the electronics industry. They will learn how to design and validate / evaluate electronics and/or communication equipment and systems and provide technical advice / sales. Course Structure To receive the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology - Electronics students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units. Core Units Apply material science to solving electro technology engineering problems Apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, codes and practices in the workplace Apply physics to solving electro technology engineering problems Assemble, set-up and test computing devices Compile and produce an energy sector detailed report Design and develop electronics - computer systems projects Develop design briefs for electro technology projects Develop strategies to address environmental and sustainability issues in the energy sector Document and apply measures to control OHS risks associated with electro technology work Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components Implement and monitor energy sector OHS policies and procedures Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan Provide engineering solutions for problems in complex multiple path circuits Provide solutions to basic engineering computational problems Repairs basic electronic apparatus faults by replacement of components Solve fundamental electronic communications system problems Solve problems in circuits Troubleshoot amplifiers in an electronic apparatus Troubleshoot basic amplifier circuits Troubleshoot digital sub-systems Troubleshoot resonance circuits in an electronic apparatus Troubleshoot single phase input power supplies Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications Use engineering applications software on personal computers Career opportunities Technical officer, engineering officer, engineering technologist Articulation When you finish this course you can apply to study Bachelor of Engineering courses at university. You may be able to receive exemptions from some subjects based on your Advanced Diploma.
