专业简介
This qualification provides competencies in audio/video, data systems and computer/network hardware, medical applications and communication aspects of electronic i.e. transmitters, communications medium/channel, receivers, attenuation, noise reduction. It includes detection/surveillance.
The Certificate IV in Electronics and Communication will be packaged with the Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering (0.5 year) (UEE50511).
Course Structure
To receive the Certificate IV in Electronics and Communications students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.
Core Units
Semester 1
Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
Implement and monitor energy sector OHS policies and procedures
Document and apply measures to control OHS risks associated with electro technology work
Implement and monitor energy sector environmental and sustainable policies and procedures
Semester 3
Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
Additional Units
Semester 1
Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components
Solve problems in d.c. circuits
Repairs basic electronic apparatus faults by replacement of components
Troubleshoot single phase input d.c. power supplies
Troubleshoot resonance circuits in an electronic apparatus
Troubleshoot basic amplifier circuits
Semester 2
Source and purchase material/parts for installation or service jobs
Use computer applications relevant to a workplace
Assemble, set-up and test computing devices
Set up and configure basic local area network (LAN) (or any other Group B “CIII” unit)
Troubleshoot digital sub-systems
Troubleshoot amplifiers in an electronic apparatus
Fault find and repair complex power supplies
Solve fundamental electronic communications system problems Semester 3
Certificate IV in Electronics and Communications completed by end of Semester 3
Semester 3
Prepare specifications for the supply of materials and equipment for electro technology projects
Estimate electro technology projects
Evaluate and modify object oriented code programs
Develop software solutions for microcontroller based systems
Repair predictable faults in audio components (or any other Group B “CIII” unit)
Solve oscillator problems
Develop structured programs to control external devices
Develop and implement energy sector maintenance programs
Compile and produce an energy sector detailed report
Articulation
When you finish this course you may be eligible to study the Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering UEE50511.

Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or Certificate III in Advanced English for Further Study at TAFE NSW or equivalent.
