Course Description Completing a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Primary Teaching at Murdoch, where learning through play matters, will give you a competitive edge in your career with a variety of employers across Australia and overseas. Here’s why: This is the only course in WA where you can get qualified to work with and teach children from birth to Year 6. You’ll study areas of the primary curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health, and Physical Education and the Arts. You’ll also focus on early childhood learning and development, acquiring a strong grounding in effective learning, teaching and assessment practices. As part of your studies, you’ll gain the practical experience you need to teach in a wide range of child care and schooling environments which could include metropolitan, rural, remote, international, hard-to-staff, multicultural, hospital, private and state schools. We offer a variety of internships in Western Australia, with some placements available for 12 months. You’ll enjoy a range of learning experiences. We were the first in Australia to introduce mixed-reality learning, using avatars to prepare you for real life classroom experiences.
