Prepares students for employment in a range of professions that cater to the changing needs of our media-saturated society.
Students are able to specialise in a particular media area and to develop superior skills in communication practice and innovative creative outputs.
Students acquire knowledge about the cultural impact of the media and gain critical insights into our local and globalised world to help them make a meaningful contribution to society.
Screen Studies
Provides a strong theoretical and analytical foundation, the opportunity to take electives in areas that will enhance the student's specialization, and an intensive production program in a variety of formats and genres. These include film and multicam drama, documentary and client-based productions including music videos and television commercials. Students also develop skills in digital production and post-production techniques as well as associated web-based content. The major makes significant use of its strong links to industry and the professional community to engage with and mentor students. Many professional and community partnerships have been established to ensure students, academics and members of the industry work together to share ideas, knowledge and expertise, and collaborate on the industry-focused projects that form a significant component of the teaching program. Components are delivered in cooperation with the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Learning Outcomes
Adapt knowledge and skills in area(s) of specialisation to develop screen projects using reflective practice to demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own learning.
Demonstrate an understanding in depth of the historical, theoretical, psychological, and cultural perspectives and its application to screen studies.
Demonstrate initiative and judgment in planning, problem solving, and decision making during production and management of screen projects in collaboration with others.
Recognise the development, presentation, and reception of contemporary film, television, and new media in an Australian context.
Review, analyse, synthesise, and communicate knowledge during the conception, planning, and development stages of screen projects.
Utilise industry models, exercise critical thinking and judgement to identify and solve problems related to the production of screen projects.

Applicants must have obtained minimum of 24 points (minimum of 28 points for Law) consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level and 3 subsidiary level. English Language Requirements accepted: Academic IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better; TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17; GCE O Levels: Grade C or better; PTE Academic: PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement; University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Pre-2015: A score between 52 - 57 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test. Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169; or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 including TWE of 5.
国际学生入学条件
All applicants are required to be Screen Academy students only, attend an interview, and have completed an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media, with equivalents considered. Alternatively applicants can have completed a Diploma of Screen and Media, but are required to complete a transitional semester to qualify for entry into the program.

TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better

WAUFP: 50% plus pass in ELACS
International Baccalaureate Diploma: Minimum grade 3 at higher level for an English subject, or minimum grade of 4 at standard level for an English subject
Pearson Test of English (PTE): PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement of Academic IELTS 6.0
University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169.
Edexcel International GCSE: English Language A, English Language B, or English Literature - Grade C or above; English as a Second Language (ESL) - Grade B or above.
