A progressive course dedicated to producing future teachers ready to enter the primary education teaching profession. A key feature of this course is the range and number of professional practice experiences offered to pre-service teacher education students, ensuring they can make the essential connection between theory and practice, while building both professional and generic employability skills in real teaching environments. Partnerships between ECU and over 650 schools allow for pre-service teacher education students to gain experience in diverse settings, including public, private, city, or remote schools, working with children from differing economic, social, ethnic and educational circumstances. Another distinguishing feature of this course is the opportunity to complete a formal specialization in your Primary Education qualification. This enables you to obtain a deeper and broader level knowledge and understanding in a particular Learning Area at the graduate level, while maintaining your generalist knowledge. Units are also available in the degree that enables students to complete accreditation requirements to teach in Catholic schools. Course Learning Outcomes Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and practical Primary education situations. Communicate disciplinary (Primary education) knowledge and values in professional and public contexts. Demonstrate a broad and coherent body of knowledge in the underlying philosophies, theories, principles and processes of learning including how they relate to practice and the role of teachers, from a global perspective. Demonstrate a global outlook with respect for cultural diversity, including Indigenous cultural competence. Demonstrate autonomy, accountability and judgement for own learning and professional practice. Demonstrate broad and coherent body of knowledge with depth in the underlying principles and concepts in primary education. Demonstrate knowledge of socio-cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous and their impact on students' learning needs Think creatively to anticipate challenges and generate Primary education specific solutions/responses. Think critically to analyze, interpret and conceptualize complex Primary education problems. Use digital technologies and literacies to access, evaluate and synthesize relevant information from multiple sources. Work collaboratively and demonstrate initiative to implement social, sustainable, and ethical values. 为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have obtained minimum of 24 points (minimum of 28 points for Law) consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level and 3 subsidiary level. English Language Requirements accepted: Academic IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better; TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17; GCE O Levels: Grade C or better; PTE Academic: PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement; University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Pre-2015: A score between 52 - 57 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test. Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169; or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 including TWE of 5. 国际学生入学条件 All applicants are required to provide a personal statement. In addition to satisfying academic entry criteria, applicants for pre-service teacher education courses at Edith Cowan University must also satisfy non-academic criteria. At Edith Cowan University, applicants' non-academic capabilities will be judged based on the submission of a 500 word personal statement. In this statement applicants will outline why they wish to become a teacher. English Minimum Requirements Students must attain an Academic IELTS with an average level of 7.5 or more, across the four components of listening, speaking, reading and writing; no score below level 7.0 in any of these components; and, a score of 8.0 or more in the components of speaking and listening. TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17 GCE O Level: Grade C or better WAUFP: 50% plus pass in ELACS International Baccalaureate Diploma: Minimum grade 3 at higher level for an English subject, or minimum grade of 4 at standard level for an English subject Pearson Test of English (PTE): PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement of Academic IELTS 6.0 University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169. Edexcel International GCSE: English Language A, English Language B, or English Literature - Grade C or above; English as a Second Language (ESL) - Grade B or above.
