专业简介
With a choice of majors spanning traditional and humanities disciplines, this course enables students to pursue their passion and career goals simultaneously. Students will have a unique opportunity to design a cross-disciplinary course according to their personal interests, in areas that cover historical, critical, political, theoretical and creative practices that underpin our global cultures and industries. This multi-skilled approach is essential in contextualising and applying knowledge and experience in a broad range of employment fields. Work-related placement is also encouraged.
Ongoing professional support is provided throughout the course to help students create exactly the undergraduate experience they want for their anticipated professional life.
History major
Enables an understanding of our world and puts the present in context. Students study empires past and present, the media, slavery, wars, revolutions, poverty, human rights, dictators and democracies, and Australian history in a globalising world.
The study of history is a good basis for understanding politics, heritage, social and indigenous issues. It teaches analytical skills and a deep understanding of society.
Learning Outcomes
Adapt knowledge and skills to identify, analyze and evaluate the impact of historical events and its effect on current society.
Communicate information and analysis, clearly across a range of professional contexts, for professional and non-professional audiences.
Demonstrate a broad and coherent knowledge with depth of the conceptual approaches to explain at least one period or culture of the past.
Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own learning and professional practice to identify and reflect on the knowledge and skills relevant to the study of history.
Discuss how historians shape the present and the future.
Examine historical issues by undertaking research according to the methodological and ethical conventions of the discipline to problems solve and make judgments.
Gather and critically analyze information from a number of primary and secondary sources in order to construct evidence based arguments, or narratives about the past in different technological formats.
Structure
Students are required to complete the nine units (135 credit points).

Applicants must have obtained minimum of 24 points (minimum of 28 points for Law) consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level and 3 subsidiary level. English Language Requirements accepted: Academic IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better; TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17; GCE O Levels: Grade C or better; PTE Academic: PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement; University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Pre-2015: A score between 52 - 57 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test. Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169; or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 including TWE of 5.
