Course Description Wildlife health is no longer an isolated discipline, with widespread recognition that it reflects and impacts the health of the environment, humans and domestic animal species (the “One Health” concept). The Master of Wildlife Health and Conservation aims to provide graduates of biology, ecology, and environmental science with applied training in veterinary aspects of wildlife health that can be incorporated into conservation and One Health programs. This course will teach students practical and theoretical research skills required to work in multidisciplinary teams to address wildlife health and conservation issues, including Disease Risk Analysis, disease surveillance methods and techniques, and pathology of wildlife. Core units include research methods and scientific communication, developing critical skills to ensure graduates can conduct and convey research appropriately in this growth field. Specified electives enable students to choose from special interest topics including a research project or placement. Projects may take place in Australia or overseas, providing scope for students to pursue particular interests or areas of current activity. Graduates of this degree are equipped for a range of careers including with wildlife conservation projects, as well as NGOs and government departments involved in the management of wildlife for biodiversity outcomes and species protection. This course will provide graduates with a broad range of career opportunities delivering expertise in wildlife health and disease as it applies to conservation outcomes. These include organisations involved in species conservation/recovery and translocation/reintroduction programs, such as conservation NGOs, government conservation/wildlife departments, zoos, and other not-for-profit wildlife agencies. 入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or equivalent. English Language Requirements: Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS): overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0; Test of English as a Foreign Language - IBT (TOEFL IBT): 73 with no band less than 18; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based): 534 (Test of Written English not less than 4.5); Cambridge Advanced English prior 52 with no section less than Borderline; Cambridge Advanced English after 69 overall with no band below 169 ; Occupational English Test (OET): OET with a minimum of C in the four components. 国际学生入学条件 Completion of an AQF Level 8 qualification, in the biological, ecological, environmental or animal sciences, e.g. Honours, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. Students with a Bachelor's degree in the biological, ecological, environmental or animal sciences with relevant work experience are also eligible for admission as determined by the Academic Chair. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Australia. English Language Requirements: Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall 6.5 with no band below 6.5 or equivalent; TOEFL 79 with no band less than 21 Pearson Test of English (PTE) 58 with no band below 58.
