Learn how to design and install the instruments and control systems that allow engineering systems to be monitored and controlled in a way that is safe, environmentally sound and cost-effective. Course Description Engineering systems are complex and require careful management and control to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills in instrumentation, control and computer systems engineering you need for a range of careers in mining, oil and gas, chemical and mineral processing industries, food and pharmaceuticals, defence and related industries, utility supply, transportation industries, electronics and communication industries, chemical and petrochemical, information technology or consulting firms. In the Instrumentation and Control component of the course, you will learn about classical control systems concepts, and how to design, evaluate and install instrument and control systems. You’ll work on large-scale case studies and use engineering software packages to model and simulate processes, design and implement appropriate control systems, and evaluate the performance of those systems. You’ll also learn how to identify suitable performance indicators to ensure the efficiency and safety of engineering systems. Combined with Industrial Computer Systems Engineering, you’ll learn about the use and application of computing technologies in the operation of modern industrial plants, manufacturing processes and material processing industries, with a focus on computer-based measurement and control. You’ll learn how to design, commission and test complex industrial control systems and have the opportunity to design, commission and test small-scale systems involving programming, networking and interfacing to instruments, gain problem solving skills for computer based measurement and control systems using Lab VIEW, and work on projects that explore the specification, design, commissioning and testing phases of typical systems development. You will also gain hands-on experience and apply the skills and knowledge gained throughout your course in an Engineering Masters Project of industrial significance preparing you for a successful career in both the commercial and industrial sectors. 入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or equivalent. English Language Requirements: Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS): overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0; Test of English as a Foreign Language - IBT (TOEFL IBT): 73 with no band less than 18; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based): 534 (Test of Written English not less than 4.5); Cambridge Advanced English prior 52 with no section less than Borderline; Cambridge Advanced English after 69 overall with no band below 169 ; Occupational English Test (OET): OET with a minimum of C in the four components. 国际学生入学条件 Recognised Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) in a relevant area. Normally applicants will also possess an appropriate level of industrial experience. Applicants without the necessary qualifications and/or background will be required to study additional units as part of the course requirements. English Language requirements: IELTS overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0; CAE - 169 overall with no band below 169; PTE - 50 with no band below 50; TOEFL IBT - 73 with no band less than 18; OET - OET with a minimum of C in the four components.
