This course is designed to produce leaders capable of addressing critical issues in educational practice, policy and research, predominantly through completion of coursework.
Course Description
This three-semester coursework degree is designed to provide the education profession and the community in general with leaders capable of addressing critical issues in educational practice, policy and research. It is designed for teachers, educational administrators, and other education professionals who seek to extend and deepen their expertise in Education, professionals carrying out educational duties in other relevant fields who seek professional development and renewal, and those planning to proceed to the Doctor of Education.
You will undertake a research-based project of 6 points and 30 points of coursework. This is a coursework-classified course and it can be completed in internal or external mode or a combination of modes.
This course will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to enhance your teaching, leadership and/or administration roles within the education field. If you’re a teacher, educational administrator or professional, this course will allow you to become a leader capable of addressing critical issues in educational practice, policy and research. This course also allows you to renew your professional development in any educational role.
Student visa holders must study full-time.

A minimum of 24 credit points must be at 600 level.

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or equivalent. English Language Requirements: Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS): overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0; Test of English as a Foreign Language - IBT (TOEFL IBT): 73 with no band less than 18; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based): 534 (Test of Written English not less than 4.5); Cambridge Advanced English prior 52 with no section less than Borderline; Cambridge Advanced English after 69 overall with no band below 169 ; Occupational English Test (OET): OET with a minimum of C in the four components.

Recognised Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent training, and a graduate-entry course in Education requiring at least a half year of full-time study, or part-time equivalent,
OR three-year Bachelor of Arts in Education.
OR individual applications to be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants will need to demonstrate that experience gained in any studies and or professional experience has provided them with the knowledge and skills to undertake the Master of Education.
Applicants with a recognised Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent qualification, and a graduate-entry course in Education requiring at least a half year of full-time study, or part-time equivalent, may be eligible for advanced standing of up to 12 points.
Participants applying for credit for professional workplace learning or work completed through accredited professional development courses or continuing education should contact the Academic Chair for advice. Credit may also be granted for Masters-level units completed in other courses at Murdoch or at other higher education institutions with a maximum advanced standing of 12 points.
English Language Requirements: Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0; TOEFL 90 with no band less than 20; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based): 592 (Test of Written English not less than 5.0; Pearson Test of English (PTE) 58 with no band below 58.
