The course offers thirteen majors across a broad range of disciplines, all created in consultation with industry, with many being accredited and recognised professionally with the relevant industry bodies. Students can choose up to two majors, a major and a minor, or, a major and a range of electives providing great flexibility in the course and giving students the opportunity to tailor their degree to suit their career aspirations.
Students are equipped with the theory, practical experience and employability skills, including the leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and communication and problem solving skills.

Event Management Major
Whether it’s planning an international sporting match, business conference, art exhibition, corporate event, wedding expo, or local music festival, this major equips students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in event management.
With the increasing social, economic and political significance of high-profile events, employers are seeking university graduates with the skills and knowledge of event planning, marketing and strategic management, along with the employability skills of leadership, teamwork, communication and problem-solving, for managerial positions. This major commences with an introduction to the events industry and focuses on the application of key business principles, practices and skills including; marketing, communications and sponsorship, managing the service experience, human resource and strategic management, funding and finance, sport venue and event management, business events management, business research and evaluation, event staging, logistics, and operations management.
Learning Outcomes
Access, analyze and critically evaluate relevant information to solve challenging business problems systematically.
Apply broad knowledge, with depth in discipline, to range business situations, incorporating international/global/cultural perspectives.

Employment Opportunities
Career opportunities for graduates exist within a range of professional, not-for-profit, government and commercial sport, recreation, hospitality, tourism, arts and corporate organizations at local, state, national and international levels. Within these types of organizations, your role may involve managing aspects of marketing, communications, sponsorship, public relations, sales, venues, equipment, staging, logistics or the hiring, training and supervising of staff related to the management of events.

English Language Requirements accepted: Academic IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better; TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17; GCE O Levels: Grade C or better; PTE Academic: PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement; University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Pre-2015: A score between 52 - 57 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test. Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169; or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 including TWE of 5.
