If you’re a working graduate, with a few years’ experience under your belt, but looking for career progression, a career change or simply wish to expand your knowledge base - then the UC Master of Sport and Exercise Science (Research) course is the perfect game changer for you. This 2-year, full time course will help develop your research and analytical skills and enable you to focus on study topic that is of interest to you. You will then get to research and develop a working thesis based on this topic, under the guidance of experienced academic mentors– and eventually go on to produce a document that could go on to influence industry practices both on and off the field. By the end of this course you will not only possess the knowledge, skills and the qualifications to have your work recognised at a global industry level, more importantly you will also have the confidence to move seamlessly into a Ph.D. pathway. Although the UC Bachelor of Sport Studies (honours) course does not offer direct placements, students will still have the chance to attend and work on research workshops and presentations at UC and onsite with our industry partners. Career opportunities A Master of Sport and Exercise Science (Research) qualification is an internationally recognised qualification and opens many doors. In addition, the thesis that you develop will add value to overall Sport and Exercise knowledge and practices at the highest level. As such, graduates can often choose a range of employment opportunities in areas such as: strength and conditioning sport organisations government exercise science sport marketing sponsorship public relations management of sports, recreation and leisure clubs advisory roles in the public and private sector. The unit is research focused. Attendance at regular classes in not required, however on-campus, face to face activity may be necessary
