Diagnostic radiography is a growing field with the unique opportunity to apply both technical interests and people skills on a daily basis. Our Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) is designed for you to work as a diagnostic radiographer in both public hospitals and private radiology practices nationally and internationally.
Study a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) at UC and you will:

acquire and apply clinical reasoning, treatment and evaluation skills to basic and life sciences

learn to operate diagnostic radiographic instrumentation to optimize image quality and minimize radiation dose or other potential patient hazards
develop skills in designing, implementation and management of quality assurance programs for medical imaging applications

Course Specific Information
Following successful accreditation of this new program by the Medical Radiations Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA), graduates will be able to gain registration to practice as diagnostic radiographers. Graduates will also be able to apply for a Validated Statement of Accreditation (VSoA) and be eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR).
Unit Delivery Modes
Flexible: The unit combines online study with optional on-campus, face to face activities.
Intensive: The unit is delivered on-campus and face to face in concentrated time blocks.
Placement: The unit involves an internship, practicum or other work place experience program. Some on-campus, face to face activity may also be required.
On Campus: The unit is delivered on-campus and face to face, supplemented with online content. Most classes are run on weekdays and during business hours.
Online: The unit is studied completely online. On-campus, face to face interaction is not required.

English language requirements: International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Academic - 6.0 overall with no band score below 5.5; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): IBT - Overall score of 60 with no skill score below: R3: 10, L: 9, S: 16, W: 19; Pearson Test of English (PTE): Academic - 50 with no skill score below 42; Cambridge English Scale (CES) - 169 with no individual sub-score below 162; Occupational English Test (OET) - No grade lower than 'C' in any of the sub-tests.

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 qualification or equivalent.
There are specific entry requirements for gaining international qualifications.
If students are unable to meet the minimum requirements listed, they may be eligible to access the course via a linking pathway provided by UC College.
Other qualifications not listed here will also be considered on an individual case by case basis.
TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 94 with: R: 25; L: 25; S: 23; W: 27; Pearson Test of Academic English: 65 with no skill score below 65; Cambridge English Scale: 185 with no sub-score below 185; Occupational English Test: No.grade lowers than 'B' in any of the sub-tests. There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible you must have an academic IELTS of 7.0 overall, or equivalent, with no band score below 7.0.
