If you work in the light vehicle mechanical technology industry and want to gain a formal qualification in the field, this course is for you. When you complete this course, you’ll have the confidence to work on a broad range of light vehicle components and systems. During the course, you'll learn about workplace safety and equipment and gain hands on experience servicing everything from batteries, transmissions and engines to petrol fuel, air conditioning and braking systems. Experienced teachers, who are experts in the field, will guide you through the program, which involves a combination of practical study and theory that is assessed at the end of each unit of competency. The course can be completed full time over one year, in conjunction with on the job training. A training plan can be negotiated with employers to suit their requirements.
