Youth work is about realizing justice for young people; securing their wellbeing; and recognizing their human rights, entitlements and obligations. The role of a youth worker is diverse, with many exciting and challenging career opportunities. This program taps into this diversity by working towards securing the environments in which all young people can explore their individual and collective capabilities and thrive intellectually, physically and creatively. You’ll develop skills and knowledge in identifying the different needs of young people by combining workshops, field trips and practical work experience. This program forms the basis for youth work practice, advocacy, planning, management and policy decisions. Youth workers are found in local government, health services, youth refuges and housing programs. They are also employed across the world in: Alcohol and other drug agencies Major welfare services Youth justice settings School support programs Educational institutions Careers Graduates can progress to further study in areas such as international development, education, counselling and social policy. Many graduates have also taken their careers overseas, working with agencies such as Oxfam. Graduates who successfully complete the program have a range of possible career options and may include roles such as: youth development officer community development worker (youth) indigenous youth worker recreational youth activities worker residential care worker youth alcohol and other drugs worker youth and family services worker youth housing support worker youth mental health worker youth justice worker. Pathway options When you successfully complete the following Advanced Diplomas and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0, you are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Social Science (Youth Work) with 1 semester of advanced standing (equivalent to 60 credit points): Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE - English) Advanced Diploma of Translating Alternatively, you can gain entry from RMIT Foundation Studies or a range of vocational study programs. Further study When you successfully complete this program, you may be eligible for entry into an RMIT Honours or Postgraduate program.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have obtained a score of 25 - 31. Applicants must have completed a recognized equivalent Year 12 studies program to the required standard. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (Paper Based Test) score of 580 (TWE* 4.5); TOEFL (Internet Based Test – iBT): Overall score 92 with minimum of 20 in all sections; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): 58 (no communication band less than 50); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component. 国际学生入学条件 You must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) with a minimum 70% average.
