Developed in consultation with industry, the program offers insight into moral and legal aspects of society within Australia and other countries, along with the skills to critically analyze them. You will gain knowledge and skills in alternative dispute resolution and mediation, international human rights, restorative justice and policy analysis. You’ll develop a deeper understanding of the legal system to help create a just, socially aware and responsible community. You'll be prepared for employment in private law firms, government, corporations, tribunals, community organizations and legal services. Electives and program structure This program consists of 3 complementary areas of study, as follows: social science in relation to legal studies legal and justice studies field education (internship). Careers paralegal indigenous services liaison youth justice officer legal aid law clerk victim support officer legal policy officer counsellor judge’s associate case manager. Pathway options When you successfully complete the following Advanced Diplomas and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0, you are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Legal and Dispute Studies with 1 semester of advanced standing (equivalent to 48 credit points): Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE - English) Advanced Diploma of Translating Alternatively, you can gain entry from RMIT Foundation Studies or a range of vocational study programs. Further study When you successfully complete this program, you may be eligible for entry into an RMIT Honours or Postgraduate program.
