The popular Economics and Marketing course combination at Keele provides you with knowledge, skills and experience of two exciting and highly relevant subjects. Both are taught by research experts within our internationally recognised Management School. You’ll graduate as an analytical thinker, well prepared for a number of careers in financial services, marketing and sales or management. In Economics, you will learn techniques for addressing and understanding real world economic problems, and communicate their solutions clearly and effectively. You will explore the behaviour and performance of households, businesses and governments, analyse markets and consumers' behaviour, model investor decision-making, and evaluate fiscal and monetary policies from both a micro and macro economic perspective. To aid all this, you will gain practical experience of professional software tools such as Sage and Bloomberg in our dedicated computer laboratory where you can analyse and interpret real economic data. In Marketing, you will explore branding, strategies and campaigns as well as cutting edge digital marketing. There is also a firm grounding in the wider social context of business and organisation. You can further the practical application of your learning by opting to take a placement year between years two and three of your studies or by taking the opportunity to study abroad and experience academic life in a different country. An Economics and Marketing degree will open up a range of career opportunities in business and government.  You might choose a career as an economist in the City or with the Government Economic Service or to work as a market researcher, media buyer, advertising executive, PR Officer, journalist, and management consultant. You might also choose to continue on to postgraduate study in either of these subject areas.
