Our integrated master’s degree will advance your knowledge of chemistry through both teaching and your own research, and builds professional skills which will enhance your career prospects. This is a four year course in which you’ll have the opportunity to focus on topics which suit your interests and aspirations. You’ll also develop a range of important transferable skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication skills, and the ability to conduct cutting-edge research. In the third year, you will carry out a research project to develop your research skills as well as several taught modules, including a synoptic module to consolidate your chemistry knowledge. Fourth year lectures and seminars cover research focused material, and you’ll undertake a major research project.With a master’s degree, your knowledge and skills will be very appealing to employers, but you may also have developed a particular interest which you’d like to explore at PhD level.
