专业简介
Overview
This course is your pathway to further studies in education and teaching. Students who do well in first year can apply to transfer into one of our undergraduate teaching courses in second year, including our Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Teaching. You can also choose to complete three years of study and then progress to one of our Graduate Entry Teaching programs. You'll develop fundamental critical thinking skills as well as knowledge in contemporary education theory and key concepts of student development. You'll also establish critical capabilities in literacy and numeracy. From first semester, you'll have the freedom to choose from a wide range of elective subjects, allowing you to find your own areas of interest. If you want to pursue a teaching career by doing a postgraduate teaching course, you may need to take a certain number of discipline subjects across second and third years.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognized in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
Career outcomes
The degree prepares you to work as a teacher aide or pursue a career in areas like training and professional development, local council education and youth assistance. You can also choose to complete this degree and progress to a Graduate Entry Teaching program offered at La Trobe.

Applicants must have completion of Australian Year 12 with certain grade. IB Diploma: 24 -33. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.

Entry into a Bachelor Degree program at La Trobe University requires completion of equivalent to Australian Year 12 with certain grade.
