专业简介
Why study Screen Studies?
Expand your world view by engaging with screen culture. The Major in Screen Studies recognizes that we all belong to a globalized networked culture, engaging with film, television, music and video across a range of platforms, from Netflix to YouTube. In a context of rapid change, Screen Studies offers students a solid grounding in conceptual thinking and creative practice, focusing on the love of storytelling and our fascination with the way that we present ourselves on screen.
Initially, you will learn the language of screen narrative and explore the creative possibilities of screen and sound media. Building from that, you will learn new concepts to think about your deep engagement with characters, actors and avatars on screen. In your final year, you will hone your skills as conceptual thinkers and creative producers, further developing the art of screen criticism and immersing yourselves in screen culture.
Building on the critical and conceptual skills that you learn in core subjects, you have the option of selecting electives in screenwriting, filmmaking, web series production, professional writing and performance.
