Media Studies combines journalism, sports journalism, media industries and public relations to create a major that offers a formidable skill-set. You'll work with practicing media and communication professionals, learn how the role of the media is changing, and understand the practical aspects of developing content that meets your audience's expectations. You'll gain experience in pitching ideas, researching for interviews, writing and producing compelling stories for different audiences across formats like video, audio and online platforms including blogs and mobile applications. You'll also develop skills in using social media, and learn how audiences are both challenging and changing today's media landscape. Where can Media Studies take me? Further study options If you're an undergraduate with a strong academic record, your Honours year awaits. Combine coursework and research in a specialized area of study. Complete the Honours program with high grades to qualify for entry into the Masters by Research program or direct entry into the PhD program.
