USQ’s Bachelor of Sport and Exercise (Sport and Exercise Science) could make your dream a reality and prepare you for a career in the exercise, fitness and sports industry. Your studies will focus on developing the health and fitness of people across their whole lifespan, including the elderly, pregnant women and children. By combining theoretical knowledge and practical applications, with 140 hours of professional practice placement, you will be well equipped for the career market.
Professional accreditation
As a graduate, you may be able to gain accreditation as an exercise scientist via an individual application with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA). National University Course Accreditation Program Exercise Science accreditation is being sought. Membership of other professional associations such as Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) is available.
Career outcomes
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise you can expect to find work as an exercise scientist in areas such as health and physical activity promotion, as a sports coach, gym manager, recreation officer, personal trainer, sports development officer, or work within sports tourism, community sport and recreation, and promotion of sport performance among athletes.
The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise may also provide a pathway for postgraduate studies in sport science, elite sport performance, and clinical disciplines.

Students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
