With your knowledge and practical skills, you’ll have the qualifications to work in a wide variety of careers as a Building and Construction Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager or a Tradesperson in building and civil construction projects. Work in the industries of commercial, industrial, civil and residential construction and apply your skills in problem-solving, analysis, engineering design, construction and management as well as specialized skills in built environment, quantity surveying and building services design.

Professional accreditation
Graduates of the Associate Degree of Construction meet the Queensland Building and Construction Commission’s technical qualification requirements to hold a Builder Open class of license and a Builder Project Management Services license subject to demonstrating the required level of industry experience.

Students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.

Subject pre-requisites: English (4 SA) or equivalent, and Mathematics A (4 SA) or equivalent.
Recommend prior study: Mathematics B (4, SA).

GCE A Levels - minimum grade of D or better in GCE A-level English; GCE O Levels - minimum grade of C or better in GCE O-level English; International Baccalaureate (IB) - English B Standard Level grade 5, higher level (A1 or A2) grade 4.
