This double degree provides you with exposure to multiple skill areas and employment opportunities in the dynamic business, commerce or law industries. You will learn different approaches to ethical decision making, how to think creatively and analytically, and to communicate clearly and concisely in this professionally-oriented program.
The Bachelor of Business and Commerce and Bachelor of Laws combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience to help you become successful in whichever career pathway you choose.

Real world experience
As part of the Bachelor of Laws, you will hone your skills in USQ’s Wonderley & Hall Moot Court and can take advantage of our Work Integrated Learning courses with professional experience in law practices and advocacy and support centers, making you a highly employable graduate.
Professional accreditation
The Bachelor of Laws has been accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board, Queensland, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland as an approved academic qualification under the Supreme Court (Admission) Rules 2004 (Qld). This will partially satisfy the requirements to practice as a solicitor or barrister in Queensland, or as a legal practitioner elsewhere in Australia. Intending solicitors and barristers must also complete an approved practical legal training course in order to become admitted to practice law. Accounting major graduates will meet the educational entrance requirements of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). This provides Associate membership of CPA Australia, eligibility to study the CPA Australia professional exams and eligibility to study the CAANZ professional exams.
Successful completion of the Accounting major can qualify students for exemptions from the Fundamental level (9 papers) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.
Accounting major students who complete Finance minor will meet the educational entrance requirements of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).
Finance major graduates will meet the educational entrance requirements to become a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).
The Human Resource Management major is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and satisfies the educational requirements for professional membership of AHRI.

As a graduate with a double degree, your career opportunities are extensive and vary widely depending on your chosen majors. Careers can include private practice solicitor or barrister, corporate legal counsel, tax manager, forensic investigator, chartered accountant, financial institutional lawyer, government sector employee at state or federal level or in-house positions with businesses or community organizations requiring specialist in-house legal skills.

Students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 169 or above.
