By combining two areas of study in the dual degree program, students will gain skills and understanding in commerce, along with the skills and knowledge provided by the Bachelor of Economics.
Majors
Accounting
Courses allow you to develop the skills necessary to practice in the accounting profession. Students complete the accounting major and use their electives to study the necessary prerequisites for associate membership of the key Australian accounting professional bodies, Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
Business Information Systems
The Business Information Systems major is designed for those who wish to obtain in-depth training in the analysis and management of information in a business environment. The major aims to develop skills relevant to a Business Analyst job profile and thus provides students with business analysis skills, including those related to data analytics and business information security, and facilitates the development of advanced Information Systems skills that enable students to advice on organisational information requirements and related strategy.
Business and Industry
This major concentrates on economic decision making in the business sector. It covers issues such as managerial economics, industrial and labor economics, the regulatory environment and benefit/cost analysis techniques.
Economics and Public Policy
The economics and public policy major is an economics-centered, multidisciplinary major, designed to provide students with an opportunity to understand how government intervention affects the economy in an increasingly globalised world.
Finance
In this major you will undertake courses in financial management, portfolio management, and corporate finance principles including risk assessment and business statistics.
International Trade and Finance
This major focuses on the economics and financial systems, mechanisms and emerging issues in an increasingly globalised economy. The key factors and impacts associated with this international phenomenon are studied, along with the management and policy responses of governments and business.
Natural Resources and Environment
With the growing awareness at the international, regional, national and local levels of the ecological and economic importance of our diverse natural resources, effective and efficient use of these assets is a significant social and political issue.
Quantitative Methods
With a strong mathematical and modeling focus, students are provided with the critical scientific techniques to successfully measure, analyze, project and model a diverse set of economic factors and scenarios.

Students are required to complete international equivalent to Australian Year 12 (or equivalent). Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
