The Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) is a four-year program that develops the analytical rigour needed for a high-powered career in finance and economics, whether in the international banking sector or beyond. Study advanced courses from your first year that covers topics including microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial management, financial accounting, econometrics, and data analytics and management. Choose to major in either Economics or Finance by the end of your third year. Majors are optional – if you prefer, you can complete a more general pathway and undertake a range of electives and a team project. Economics
The study of economics is central to an understanding of business, markets, trade, government policies, international issues, globalisation, health, development, and the environment. This major is for anyone with an interest in becoming an analyst, adviser, or economist in either the public or private sector. As a student in this major, you'll undertake advanced-level coursework in microeconomics and macroeconomics, including relevant study of econometrics.

Finance
This major is for anyone who wants to work in banking and finance, investment and portfolio management, corporate finance, risk assessment, or business analysis. As a student in the Finance major, you'll learn how to apply scientific research methods to problems encountered in finance, debt and equity capital markets, funds management, and private equity. You can also choose between coursework that examines corporate finance issues with a strong focus on practical applications, and coursework that involves in-depth study of empirical research methods.

Graduates of this major typically work in investment banking, funds management, management and financial consulting, corporate financial management, stock broking, infrastructure financing and development, international finance and trade, or government agencies.

Students are required to complete international equivalent to Australian Year 12 (or equivalent). Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
