As a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) student you will join a long tradition of legal scholarship at the TC Beirne School of Law, developing knowledge and skills that can be used to shape societies, governments and, ultimately, the world. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a four-year program designed to develop a high-level understanding of the law, along with personal and professional skills transferable across a wide range of careers. Develop outstanding skills in critical, rational and analytical thinking, and learn how to craft clear and persuasive arguments. The program also meets the academic requirements for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia. Benefit from a strong co-curricular program that includes real-world experience in the legal profession; holistic events to help you stay healthy, engaged and motivated; and national and international mooting competitions. Graduate with an internationally respected honours qualification, with advanced knowledge and skills that will set you apart in a competitive job market and provide a pathway to future research or learning. Career outcomes Many of our graduates enjoy employment in the legal profession and complete further training to work as barristers or solicitors, public prosecutors, community lawyers or government and military legal officers. A law degree also opens up opportunities in: Diplomatic and intelligence services, State and Federal Government policy research, Specialist negotiation and dispute resolution, Policing, Advising international NGOs such as the World Bank, or PhD scholarships We support our students to start thinking about their career early. Program structure The courses offered in the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) are set out in the course list. Each course is allocated a certain number of units (#). Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country. For more details, please visit university site.
