The Bachelor of Environmental Management (Honours) is an interdisciplinary program that examines the complex web of social, political, cultural, economic and ecological factors that shape the field of environmental management. Specialise in either Natural Systems and Wildlife or Sustainable Development. You will gain practical skills in applying scientific planning and business principles to achieve a balance between environmental protection and human development. Choose from a wide selection of elective courses in your first three years that will develop your knowledge and skills across business and sustainability, conservation and wildlife management, global change and policy frameworks. Apply your core knowledge in your fourth year as you hone your ability to research, develop and manage solutions to real world problems through an independent research project or industry oriented group research project.
Career outcomes
You will find employment in managerial, research, administrative and education roles within consultancies, mining companies, government departments, land care and catchment management groups and national and international Non-Government Organisations. Opportunities are available in a variety of sectors including:

Majors
Natural Systems and Wildlife
The Natural Systems and Wildlife major teaches you how to use scientific, social, economic and managerial information in natural systems, and wildlife conservation and management. The major combines the study of biology with multidisciplinary skills in environmental management, decision-making, problem-solving and policy analysis.
Sustainable Development
The Sustainable Development major teaches you how to manage (and minimize) the conflict between the need for growth and development, and our environment. This major teaches skills in environmental management, decision-making and problem-solving, with a focus on urban, industrial and rural environments. By the end of the major, you'll be ready to help companies and governments set and meet appropriate environmental standards.

Students are required to complete international equivalent to Australian Year 12 (or equivalent). Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
