This program allows you to choose from over 40 study areas across the humanities, social sciences and languages, giving you the opportunity to study the subjects you love. Combine your Bachelor of Arts with 14 other undergraduate degrees including Law, Engineering, Science or Business, enabling you to complete two degrees in a shorter amount of time. Structure your program into two single majors; or an extended major and a minor; or one single major and two minors. Any major can also be studied as a minor. Access state-of-the-art facilities including laboratories, a fully equipped drama theatre, industry-standard media studios and editing suites, and a UN-standard interpreter training facility. English / Extended The courses in this major were chosen in consultation with the School of Education to meet the teaching prerequisites for education students who want to teach English or English extension in high schools. The English major combines courses from English literature, media studies, and film and television studies, to give you deeper insight into the English-speaking world and English-language culture. As a student in the English major, you'll study topics as varied as film and television, Shakespeare, digital media, and grammar. Career outcomes Graduates of the English major typically work in education as school teachers, heads of department, education advisors and student mentors. Other graduates choose to work with non-school-based education providers (such as tutoring companies), government agencies or education advocacy organisations.
