From mining and energy to automotive and manufacturing, this program provides you with the skills to work as a designer, technical specialist, consultant or manager across a range of industries.
Through this program you'll develop the knowledge to lead the implementation of new technologies and operating practices and systems in process, automotive, manufacturing, mining, energy and infrastructure-oriented businesses.
You will develop specialist knowledge in:
advanced CAE
advanced dynamics
solid mechanics
advanced thermo fluids
You'll build high-level technical knowledge and appropriate professional skills such as management, leadership and business enterprise.
With a focus on project-based and multi-disciplinary learning you'll develop your professional engineering competencies in teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, communication and research.
International student visa holders can only study full-time.

Program structure
The Master of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) consists of 192 credit points and will meet Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 9 learning outcomes.

Applicants must have completed a bachelor degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant discipline awarded with honours. The degree should include a research component comprised of a thesis, other research projects or research methodology courses that constitute at least 25% of a full-time academic year (or part-time equivalent). The applicant must have achieved at least a distinction average in the final year; or a master degree that includes a research component comprised of at least 25% of a full-time academic year (or part-time equivalent) with an overall distinction average or a master degree without a research component with at least a high distinction average. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (Paper Based Test) score of 580 (TWE* 4.5); TOEFL (Internet Based Test – iBT): Overall score 92 with minimum of 20 in all sections; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): 58 (no communication band less than 50); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.

You must have successfully completed:
An Australian bachelor degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, engineering science or engineering technology with one of the following disciplines: mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, sustainable systems, aerospace, or automotive and a GPA of at least 2.5 out of 4.0, or equivalent. You may also be eligible for entry if you have a GPA below 2.5 (out of 4.0) and at least two years' current, relevant, work experience in industry.
OR
A Master of Engineering by coursework in mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, sustainable systems, aerospace, automotive, or equivalent.
English language requirements
To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:
IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.5 (with no individual band below 6.0)
TOEFL (Paper Based Test): minimum score of 580 (TWE 4.5)
TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 92 (with minimum of 20 in all sections)
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 58 (with no communication band less than 50)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 176 with no less than 169 in any component
