Graduate with the theoretical and clinical skills to start your career as a registered nurse.
Major areas of study include foundational nursing care, acute care nursing, and mental health nursing.
Theoretical content is supported with nursing practice laboratories, clinical simulation and clinical practice.

Pathway options
When you successfully complete the Diploma of Nursing you are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Nursing with 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 96 credit points).
If you have completed the Diploma of Nursing more than 12 months but less than 10 years prior to your Bachelor of Nursing application, you must be registered as an enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and provide of evidence of this in order to qualify for selection and receive full credit.
Alternatively, you can gain entry from RMIT Foundation Studies or a range of vocational study programs.
Further study
When you successfully complete this program, you may be eligible for entry into an RMIT honours or postgraduate program.

Applicants must have obtained a score of 25 - 31. Applicants must have completed a recognized equivalent Year 12 studies program to the required standard. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (Paper Based Test) score of 580 (TWE* 4.5); TOEFL (Internet Based Test – iBT): Overall score 92 with minimum of 20 in all sections; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): 58 (no communication band less than 50); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
