International business equips you with the ability to manage, analyze and interpret the complex nature of global organizations. RMIT’s international business degree provides both breadth and depth of knowledge across a number of business disciplines. The program enables you to develop an understanding of core business issues relating to financial markets, international trade, and global logistics and supply chain management, and to develop skills in cross-cultural management. In addition, you will learn how to think critically about managing international business responsibly, and sustainably, about design and entrepreneurship, and gain insights into the institutional roles of business that reveal how the global political economy shapes, and is shaped by, international business organizations. You will graduate with the skills to build a successful career across corporate/business sectors, government, third sector, and consultancy in Australia and overseas. Electives and program structure The program consists of 28 taught courses including core business and international business courses, work-integrated learning courses, flexible courses, a one-year compulsory industry placement and a business design project. The business design project in final year consolidates this practical experience, theory and your problem-solving skills. Successful completion and the grades you achieve determine the amount of credit you will receive. When you successfully complete the Associate Degree in Business, you will receive 3 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 156 credit points). If you achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the following programs you are guaranteed entry with credit: Advanced Diploma of International Business - you will receive 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 132 credit points) Advanced Diploma of Accounting - you will receive 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 120 credit points) Diploma of Commerce - you will receive 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 96 credit points) Diploma of Information Technology - you will receive 1 semester of advanced standing (equivalent to 60 credit points) Diploma of Financial Services - you will receive 1 semester of advanced standing (equivalent to 48 credit points) Alternatively, you can gain entry from RMIT Foundation Studies or a range of vocational study programs. Further study When you successfully complete the Bachelor of Business (International Business) (Applied) you may be eligible for entry into the Bachelor of Business (Honours).
