Programme overview You can take the one-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) as a qualification in its own right after a Bachelor of Arts or as a pathway to a one-year Master of Arts Postgraduate study is a unique opportunity to deepen your study of an academic area that you find intellectually rewarding and personally meaningful. As well as deepening your knowledge in small classes with some of New Zealand’s leading scholars, you can hone advanced skills that will be an advantage in any career. Asian Studies Asian Studies gives you a broad understanding of the complexities and opportunities of Asia. Asian Studies is an interdisciplinary programme that draws on the wide range of expertise on Asia across the Faculty of Arts. You can choose to study film, literature, politics, history, popular culture, philosophy, geography, economics and anthropology. Where can Asian Studies take you? Asian Studies graduates have gone on to careers in international organisations, NGOs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and other areas of government. Programme structure 120 points Advanced taught courses (75 or 90 points) A small research project such as a dissertation (usually 30 or 45 points) You may be able to include up to 30 points from other subjects One year full-time or up to two years part-time The structure of your programme depends on the subject that you are studying. 为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have an appropriate undergraduate degree with a minimum average grade of ‘B’ or higher in the final-year prerequisite courses at a recognised institution. Consult faculty guidelines for the grades required. Other English Language Requirements accepted: overall score of 575 plus Essay (TWE) of 4.5 in Paper-based TOEFL; CAE score of 58 or higher, no individual language skill below borderline; CPE score of 45 or higher; PTE overall score of 65 and no PTE communicative skills score below 58; score of 85 in Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB). 国际学生入学条件 Taught 120 points You need to have completed an undergraduate degree at a recognised university (or similar institution) in a similar discipline to your intended subject. You will require a GPE of 5.0. IELTS (Academic) Overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) Overall score of 90 and a written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL Overall score of 575 and an Essay (TWE) of 4.5; C1 Advanced (previously - Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)) Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; C2 Proficiency (previously - Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE)) Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP) Grade of B-; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) 85.
