The Postgraduate Diploma in Design provides an opportunity for students across the design spectrum to up skill in creative practice, technologies and theory. The diploma provides an introduction to postgraduate research processes and contemporary design theory and, when achieved at an appropriate level, gives student’s access to the Master of Design or the MFA in Design. It caters for students in many design disciplines, including fashion design, industrial design, photography, spatial design, textile design and visual communication design. Postgraduate Diploma in Design structure The Postgraduate Diploma in Design is a one year, two semester, taught course consisting of 120 credits with a focus on studio-based enquiry and the development of research skills. The programme is identical to the final year of the Bachelor of Design (Honours). You push the boundaries of design with a significant research-led independent project, expand and/or deepen your skills through electives, and round out this phase of your training with an externally focused course on creative entrepreneurship, exhibition or writing in the creative arts. Majors or endorsements Endorsements are available in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Photography, Spatial Design, Textile Design, and Visual Communication Design.
