Develop your research and clinical expertise and become a specialist in your field of speech and language therapy.
What is it Like?
Massey’s Master of Speech and Language Therapy provides qualified speech language therapists with opportunities for advanced clinical and theoretical study.
You’ll develop research skills that will prepare you to use and add to the knowledge base in speech and language therapy.
Relevant to your working life
This programme will give you expertise in core areas such as evidence-based practice and research methods. You can also follow your interests in specialist areas that reflect your individual passions and/or client caseloads. Postgraduate studies at Massey will reflect your current or desired work context.
Get support every step of the way
We tailor assignments and thesis topics to your interests, and pair you with an academic mentor who has expertise in your subject area. Your mentor will support and guide you through coursework and thesis completion.
Academic progression
If you have a Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy (Honours) degree or equivalent, with at least a B grade average, you are eligible to advance directly into the thesis component of the degree (Part B).
This programme provides a solid foundation for entry into a PhD in Speech and Language Therapy.
Planning your programme
You must have achieved a B grade average in the Part One courses in order to progress to Part Two in the Master of Speech and Language Therapy. Students, who do not meet this minimum grade average, may be exited with the Postgraduate Diploma in Speech and language Therapy.
The Master of Speech and Language Therapy may be awarded with a class of Honours for those completing the full 240 credits, if completed within 2 years of full-time study.
Students admitted directly to Part Two and completing 120 credits may be eligible for the award of Distinction or Merit if completed within 1 year of full-time study.

An appropriate undergraduate degree from a recognised tertiary institution is required. English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL iBT- 90 overall (min 20 in Writing); PTE Academic - 58 Overall (min 50 in communicative skills); Cambridge English - 180.
国际学生入学条件
Admission to the Master of Speech and Language Therapy requires that you will:
have been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent having achieved at least a B grade average, or
have been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy (Honours) or equivalent having achieved at least a B grade average.
Students from a country where English is not the first language, must obtain a minimum English Language competency level.

Cambridge English score of 176 overall and all bands 169 or better
