Master of Education structure
The Master of Education is a 180 credit parts-based programme. Students shall complete 180 credits at 700/800-level, comprising:
Completion of Part One and Part Two as specified in the Schedule;
At least 150 credits from the Schedule;
Including at least 15 credits (one course) (Coursework Pathway) or 30 credits (two courses) (Research Pathway) of research methods course(s) as listed in the Regulations.
Coursework (Professional Inquiry) pathway:
It is strongly recommended that all subject courses are completed first. The research methods courses should then be completed.
To progress to Part Two students must achieve a minimum B grade average in the first 120 credits of courses.
Students completing the MEd without a specialisation must complete 120 credits from any of the subject schedules or elective schedule, one 15 credit research methods course (from 267.740, 267.741, 267.782 or 267.783), and the 45 credit Professional Inquiry course (267.861). This will allow you to construct a qualification individualised to your personal needs.
Research (Thesis) pathway:
It is strongly recommended that all subject courses are completed first. The research methods courses must then be completed.
Students completing the research pathway without a specialisation must complete 60 credits from any of the subject schedules or the elective schedule, two 15 credit research methods courses (from 267.740, 267.741, 267.782, 267.783), and a 90 credit Thesis (267.881/267.882).

An appropriate undergraduate degree from a recognised tertiary institution is required. English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL iBT- 90 overall (min 20 in Writing); PTE Academic - 58 Overall (min 50 in communicative skills); Cambridge English - 180.

Before enrolling for this Degree, you shall:
meet the University admission requirements as specified, and shall have:
been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Education with a grade average in the highest level courses of at least a B, or equivalent; or
been awarded or qualified for any other Bachelors degree with a grade average in the highest level courses of at least a B, or equivalent, and hold a professional qualification in teaching; or
been awarded or qualified for any other Bachelors degree with a grade average in the highest level courses of at least a B, or equivalent, and have professional experience relevant to the intended postgraduate subject; or
been awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or equivalent, with a grade average across all courses of at least B (Coursework pathway) or at least a B+ (Research pathway).
Students from a country where English is not the first language, must obtain a minimum English Language competency level.
IELTS score of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT score of 90 overall (min 20 in Writing)
PTE Academic score of 58 Overall (min 50 in communicative skills)
Cambridge English score of 176 overall and all bands 169 or better
