This means you can now complete an MA in three semesters of full-time study. Careers The knowledge of human behaviour and interactions that you’ll gain from a Master of Arts (Psychology) will be useful in many careers including: Counselling Human resources Public health Youth support Policy Rehabilitation psychology Scientific research Master of Arts (Psychology) structure Courses to the value of 180 credits consisting of 120 credits of taught courses and a Research Report (Coursework pathway) or a combination of taught courses and a 120 credit thesis (Research pathway) as outlined below. At least a B grade average is required in the first 60 credits of courses completed in Part One for progression to Part Two - Coursework Pathway. At least a B+ grade average is required in the first 60 credits of courses completed in Part One for progression to Part Two - Research Pathway. Students who successfully complete Part One but do not meet the minimum grade average for progression will exit with a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts. This qualification may be awarded with Distinction or Merit. Students intending to proceed to a professional qualification in Psychology (such as the Postgraduate Diploma of Psychological Practice or Postgraduate Diploma of Industrial Organisational Psychology) must complete either a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts prior to enrolment in the Master of Arts degree. Students will then complete the Master of Arts degree with a 120 credit thesis (direct admission to Part Two). These arrangements are necessary to ensure appropriate professional registration is subsequently possible.
