If you want to become a mainstream primary or intermediate school teacher, the Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching) provides you with the skills to teach in mainstream primary teaching settings.

入学要求
为来自中国的学生设计
A Tier 1 score in the National University Entrance Examination (Gaokao) at a recognised institution. English Language Requirements: IELTS score 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; TOEFL iBT score 80; Minimum overall score of 52 in CAE prior to 2015 or a score of 169 in CAE from 2015; or a score of 50 in Pearson (PTE); or B/B+ in Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS); or grade B in GIE.

All applicants need to meet AUT’s minimum entry requirements qualification equivalent to New Zealand year 13 or University Entrance.
Must meet Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand requirements (For the purposes of entering an Initial Teacher Education programme, applicants (both domestic and international) must have gained UE through one of: NCEA via level 3 requirements in three subjects from the approved list, University of Cambridge International examinations or International Baccalaureate examinations)

Selection criteria
Interview, numeracy and literacy competency assessment, CV and experience working with young children
English Language requirements:
IELTS (Academic) with a band score of 7.0 in each component OR A level 7 degree from a New Zealand or Australian University OR Two years of secondary schooling in New Zealand and UE literacy at level 2 NCEA with 5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing; TOEFL iBT score of 100; GIE with A grade; CAE minimum overall score of 185; PTE minimum overall score of 65.
