Areas covered include table service, bar service and product knowledge, as well as operating procedures, effective communication and legislative compliance. Note: If you do not have previous experience in hospitality we suggest that you first complete the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service Level 3. You can concurrently enrol in both the Level 3 and Level 4 components of the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service. Programme structure To complete this Certificate you are required to complete a minimum total of 60 credits. To be a full time student you need to maintain a workload of 120 credits per year. Career Opportunities Graduates will be able to provide advanced service across a broad range of unlicensed and licensed food and beverage service outlets where advanced skills and product knowledge are required eg luxury and up market operations. Their knowledge of service principles and the operation in which they work will enable graduates to take responsibility for monitoring and maintaining the standards set by the employer.
