Take the first exciting step on your journey towards communicating in Japanese with this intensive 17-week programme designed to kick-start your language skills. During your studies you will develop the language skills to read, write, listen and speak basic Japanese to communicate effectively. No prior knowledge of Japanese is required for this foundation course. This is an academic course of study and time and commitment to after class study is essential for success in this programme. The programme leader will be available to discuss the programme with you to ensure it meets your needs. This programme is intended for those whose first language is not Japanese. The Head of School will, in consultation with the relevant language specialist, determine whether you are a first language speaker. Programme structure To complete this Degree you are required to complete a minimum total of 60 credits. To be a full time student you need to maintain a workload of 120 credits per year. We recommend you talk with us to ensure you choose electives to benefit your future career. Career Opportunities With a focus on practical application and spoken Japanese, this programme will give you a basic understanding and speaking ability, which can be applied to employment situations or a visit to Japan. Employment options include working in the tourism, hospitality and teaching professions. Study Pathways Following on from the Certificate in Japanese (Foundation) you may wish to further enhance your Japanese language skills with our Certificate in Japanese, Diploma in Japanese or the Bachelor of Language (Japanese).

国际学生入学条件 This programme has open entry, but English language requirements apply.
