The Monash University Foundation Year program is a pre-university year that prepares international students for higher education. Once the program is completed and the qualifying results obtained, students are guaranteed a place with one of the world's leading, and Australia's largest, tertiary education providers - Monash University. The program is specifically designed for international students to bridge the gap between a student's home country qualifications and first-year university studies. The generalist nature of the program enables students to take a wide range of subjects and tailor the program to their future university and career ambitions. The Foundation Year Extended program spans 15 months over two semesters and students are required to complete a minimum of four subjects (eight units). To further support the varying needs of international students, Monash University Foundation Year Australia also offers the program in standard and intensive formats. The Monash University Foundation Year program is also offered in Indonesia (Jakarta), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru), China (Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai) and Sri Lanka (Colombo).
