In this case, your programme will be made up of a combination of modules from both Human Resource Management and Psychology. The Human Resource Management and Psychology course offers a superb critical insight into the multi-faceted relationship between the worker and the organisation by building a detailed understanding of the reasons why humans feel, think and act in the ways they do. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) for the Human Resource Management element and the British Psychological Society for its psychology modules, this course is an excellent intellectual platform for a number of people-focused careers in management.In the Human Resource Management modules, you will learn about formal and informal ways of regulating the employment relationship in the public, private and voluntary sectors, including legislation and industrial relations. You’ll explore how organisations function as part of their wider economic and political context, how they are managed and how they plan their future needs. In the Psychology modules, you will find out what the latest research tells us about human behaviour in a biological and cognitive framework. In our well-equipped laboratories, you will learn how to design and conduct your own psychological studies using a range of quantitative and qualitative techniques. The emphasis is on understanding how psychology impacts on everyday life; from developing a sense of self and negotiating personal relationships to influencing judgements about matters of global significance.Accredited by both the British Psychological Society and the CIPD, this course can be a stepping stone to further develop into either of these spheres or give you the grounding for a wide range of careers relating to them.
