This course is aimed at educational practitioners, and is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, which allows you the opportunity to study flexibly around current work commitments without the need to give up your job. Our programme has been designed to allow you to tailor your study route around your own areas of interest, your professional needs and career aspirations. The MA will enable you to critically examine pressing educational issues in local, national and international contexts. The programme is research-led and theoretically rich, while providing opportunities for you to reflect upon, and examine your own social and professional contexts. Our MA in Education takes a broad-based approach, considering subjects such as Issues in Inclusive Education to Global Educational Issues. The aims of the programme will enable you to: Demonstrate systematic knowledge and critical awareness of a range of educational theories and issues that reflect your chosen specialisations; Communicate effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences through higher level writing and presentation skills; Critically reflect upon an array of educational practices and policies (including your own practice, where appropriate); Draw upon appropriate theories, methodologies, practices and a wide range of evidence to design and undertake small-scale independent research on an educational issue of your choice. Students will also achieve Pg cert and Pgdip awards during this course.
