Overview Studying the Master of Management (Sport Management) at our City Campus prepares you for a range of careers in the global sports industry. Learn to work with professional sports teams, manage relationships between athletes and the media, or start your own sports business. You'll graduate with the skills needed to be a sport management leader with professional sport teams, international, national and state sport governing bodies, and at major sport events and venues. You could also work in the private, non-profit and government sectors of the sports industry in senior management roles. Starting with the foundation business knowledge required of all managers, you'll go on to study a variety of sport management electives and complete a research thesis project as a pathway to a research degree. The course uses case-study-based learning and features regular guest lectures by business leaders. You'll gain valuable insights into performance development, learn how to develop and evaluate innovative business processes, and implement management and communication strategies related to athlete and coach welfare. The course partners with the AFL Coaches Association and AFL Sports Ready, meaning you’ll gain experience from professionals at the top of their careers. You'll also benefit from our education and training partnerships with significant professional associations. All of our sports and management core subjects are offered in accelerated block mode at our City Campus, and most classes are delivered in four-day intensives at our state-of-the-art teaching space in Melbourne's CBD. We offer a flexible timetable that allows you to balance your study with other commitments. All core subjects are available as evening classes. The qualification awarded on graduation is recognized in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9. Career outcomes Sport management is a global industry, offering a range of career opportunities in the private, non-profit and government sectors. After graduation you could work in a senior management role with a professional sports team.
