Overview
This two-year program is an ideal route to an internationally recognised professional accreditation in finance. We've developed our accounting and finance courses in collaboration with industry, to meet the needs of business and professional associations, particularly the CFA Institute. This course focuses specifically on the specialisation of equity valuation and portfolio performance measurement allowing the study of this area in greater depth, and covers in excess of 70% of the Candidate Body of Knowledge defined for CFA Program examinations, Levels I - III. It builds on a broad foundation of study in economics, accounting, management and quantitative methods.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.
Career outcomes
This course is designed as a pathway to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter - the designation of professional excellence within the global investment industry. CFA charter holders can gain employment in investment companies and mutual funds, stockbrokerage firms and investment banks, investment management and consulting firms, insurance companies and banks.
Professional recognition
La Trobe University is recognized by CFA Institute as a University Affiliate for its Master of Financial Analysis (Investment). The Master of Financial Analysis (Investment) is recognized by CFA Institute as covering in excess of 70% of the Candidate Body of Knowledge defined for CFA Program examinations, Levels I – III. Applicants must have an Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline, or approved international equivalent. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 575 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
国际学生入学条件
The minimum entry requirement is successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree (or its equivalent). Prior learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be at least equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor degree, may be considered. In making an offer to an applicant, the University will give consideration to a range of factors to determine whether an applicant has demonstrated the capacity to work at a Master's level, including academic record, English proficiency, and/or employment experience. (Optional) The Bachelor degree (or equivalent) must be deemed cognate to gain entry to a 1.5 year Master degree, otherwise, the applicant will be considered for a 2 year Master degree program.
