专业简介
Overview
Dietitians have a key role in the nutrition management of diseases and conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, malnutrition, food allergies and intolerance. Dietitians also work toward the prevention of many diseases and conditions through nutrition education, health promotion and advocacy. Graduates work in all areas of dietetics, including hospitals, private practice, community health and the food industry.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.
Career outcomes
The course aims to prepare you for entry-level roles in all areas of dietetics, including patient/client care in hospitals, private practice, community nutrition and public health and food service companies. Dietitians also work in a range of other fields including research, teaching and training, management, writing, media, marketing, public relations and the food industry (including product development, food regulation, safety, consumer nutrition education and nutrition marketing).
Professional recognition
The Master of Dietetic Practice has provisional accreditation from the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
Graduates of the Master of Dietetic Practice may apply for membership with the DAA. Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.

Applicants must have an Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline, or approved international equivalent. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 575 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
国际学生入学条件
Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in a health or science related area, completed within the last five years with a minimum grade average of 70 per cent (or subsequent postgraduate study and/or relevant work experience). Subject prerequisites in the Bachelor's degree or postgraduate course, or taken as single subject (non-award) studies are:
Two full semester subjects of chemistry at first year tertiary level followed by two full semester subjects of biochemistry at second year tertiary level or higher;
Two full semester subjects of human biology at first year tertiary level followed by two full semester subjects of human physiology at second year tertiary level or higher;
Two full semester subjects of food and nutrition science at any tertiary level.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic) - Overall score of 7.0 with no band less than 7.0; TOEFL Paper based - Overall score of 600 with 6 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT) - Overall 98 with 24 in Reading, 24 in Listening, 23 in Speaking and 27 in Writing; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE) - Overall score of 65 with no communicative skill score less than 65; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 with no less than 185 in any component; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - 185 with no less than 185 in any component.
