Overview
Our Bachelor of Cybersecurity opens doors to one of the most rapidly expanding global industries.
Cybercrime is now a widespread threat and a mainstream concern that can only be combated by highly-skilled specialists - not IT professionals alone. La Trobe's Bachelor of Cybersecurity is a brand new degree that addresses the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals and prepares you with skills across IT, business, law, policy and strategic communication. You'll cover the history of hacking and explore the various methods used to defend and protect against malicious cyber-threats. As cybersecurity is as much about people as it is about technology, you'll also learn about the sophisticated techniques that cyber-criminals use to manipulate individuals to access confidential information online.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognized in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
Career outcomes
You'll graduate with knowledge, skills, and experience that could apply to a range of roles in the evolving area of cybersecurity including national security, IT, Risk Management, Forensics, Cyber intelligence, banking and finance, telecommunications, health care and law.

English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.
