Overview
Human geography has a strong focus on social and community planning, health and health care delivery, population studies, development studies, resource and environmental management, public policy development, urban and regional management and geographic information science.
Human geographers collaborate widely, with strong links to anthropologists in development studies, sociologists and other social scientists in social inclusion, and physical geographers in environmental management and climate adaptation. Students can complete this major by distance education (external study). Some units require attendance on campus.

Applicants must have a recognised secondary (high school) qualification. English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5; TOEFL iBT: 83, Reading 19, Writing 24, Listening 12, Speaking 18; Pearson test of English (PTE) academic general score of 58; Cambridge English: advanced (CAE) general score of 180; CPE: Score of 180; Occupational English test (OET) score of Grade B or above.

Students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications: A recognized senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification; A recognized university Foundation course; A recognized 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree; At least one year of a university degree from a recognized institution.
You may satisfy the English language requirements if you have completed: senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC; one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification
IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent.
