The Bachelor of Journalism - Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree is an excellent choice for those keen to pursue a career as a professional engineer or administrator within an engineering environment. Graduates can also work for a specialist publication or a generalist media organisation. The engineering component of this degree provides you with the professional skills required of industry practitioners, while the journalism component gives you the practical skills to engage with audiences in a persuasive and compelling way. You will work with a variety of media including print, webcasts, podcasts and broadcasts. Alternatively, this degree prepares you to work as a journalist, employed at a specialist engineer and science-based publication, or for a general news outlet. By deepening your specialisation, you are able to carve out the career of your choice and gain highly competitive skills for a global workplace. You will choose one major from the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours): Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Materials, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Mining, Telecommunications. The Bachelor of Journalism has a prescribed set of core subjects as well as electives. Course Learning Outcomes A number of the course learning outcomes in each of these degrees complement and consolidate outcomes in the partner degree. Applied across two discipline areas, the outcomes are achieved at a broader and more comprehensive level. The outcomes which are common and consolidated in this joint degree ensure that on successful completion of the course students will be able to: Apply the skills required to function effectively as part of a team; Independently research and produce disciplinary responses; Effectively communicate with a range of audiences; Apply culturally informed principles to disciplinary work; Apply ethical principles to disciplinary work. 为来自中国的学生设计 UOW recognizes secondary qualifications from more than 40 countries and education systems, including GCE A levels, International Baccalaureate and SAT, and can assess students who have completed the equivalent of Australian high school (Year 12) for direct entry to the first year of a Bachelor degree. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.0; TOEFL - 79, Pearson PTE - 57. 国际学生入学条件 Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia. In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science. English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic Overall Score of 7.0, reading 6.5, writing 6.5, listening 6.5, speaking 6.5; TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 100, reading 20, writing 20, listening 20, speaking 20; Cambridge English: CAE and CPE score of 185; PTE Academic overall score of 72 (Reading and Writing 72, Speaking and Listening 65).
