International studies is the analysis, understanding and appreciation of the diversity of the global community. It examines the relationships of politics, society, culture, language, and history in a range of countries. By studying economics and finance, you'll explore the theory, policies, practices and institutions of the domestic and global economy at both micro and macro levels.
This degree will challenge you to look at complex systems and see how they interrelate, exploring how and why the world's economies and political systems work. The Bachelor of International Studies - Bachelor of Economics and Finance addresses relevant global, economic, financial and political issues affecting the worldwide business market. It will teach you a diverse skill set and equip you with a theoretical background, proficiency in a language and the ability to analyse real-life case studies. You will learn how international organisations conduct business - and the economic and financial issues they face - when operating across global borders.

UOW recognizes secondary qualifications from more than 40 countries and education systems, including GCE A levels, International Baccalaureate and SAT, and can assess students who have completed the equivalent of Australian high school (Year 12) for direct entry to the first year of a Bachelor degree. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.0; TOEFL - 79, Pearson PTE - 57.

Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia. In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.
