Sharpen your career focus via studies in the Bachelor of Creative Arts with majors in Creative Writing, Graphic Design, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, or Visual Arts and Design. A Bachelor of Journalism degree helps you build newsroom skills such as editing, media and technology, and writing necessary for story production, broadcast and publication. This double degree teaches you how to evaluate key issues in contemporary journalism theory with hands-on professional journalism skills with the added advantage of a creative specialisation. By refining your critical thinking skills, you will be able to investigate and present material to a range of audiences or clients in a persuasive, timely and engaging way. You will work with various formats, including print, online and broadcast media. You will choose one major from the Bachelor of Creative Arts degree: Creative Writing, Graphic Design, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, or Visual Arts and Design. The Bachelor of Journalism has a prescribed set of core subjects, as well as electives. Course Learning Outcomes A number of the course learning outcomes in each of these degrees complement and consolidate outcomes in the partner degree. Applied across two discipline areas, the outcomes are achieved at a broader and more comprehensive level. The outcomes, which are common and consolidated in this joint degree, ensure that on successful completion of the course students will be able to: Evaluate key issues and practice and its application to different disciplines; Work independently and collaboratively in response to disciplinary demands; Critically and reflectively evaluate ideas, concepts and processes; Apply relevant skills and knowledge to produce disciplinary work; Develop and apply a set of relevant critical, professional and technical skills to a specialised area; Communicate effectively to a range of audiences through a range of media; Apply ethical principles to a range of contexts. 为来自中国的学生设计 UOW recognizes secondary qualifications from more than 40 countries and education systems, including GCE A levels, International Baccalaureate and SAT, and can assess students who have completed the equivalent of Australian high school (Year 12) for direct entry to the first year of a Bachelor degree.
